Chiang Man Temple

Today, I would like to recommend a tourist attraction in the moat of Chiang Mai. Wat Chiang Man is an old temple and the most powerful temple of Chiang Mai city, in the city wall area. It was built in 1839 by King Mengrai. After he established Chiang Mai, he gave Chiang Man Palace to be built as a temple called Wat Chiang Man. It is both a center for education and the propagation of Buddhism. It enshrines important Buddha images such as Phra Setangkhamani or Phra Kaew Khao, which are highly revered by the people of Chiang Mai.
