Wat Muen San

Wat Muen San is located on Wualai Road. The history of the temple is unclear as to when it was built. There is only a local legend that mentions this temple. The 15th king of the Mangrai Dynasty, a minister named Wimonkitti, rank Muen, built this monastery and supported the temple throughout. Therefore, it was named Wat Muen San after that minister. Inside the temple, there is a chapel similar to a miniature temple, a stupa containing the relics of Khru Ba Srivichai, and a monument to Khru Ba Srivichai, a saint of Lanna. There is also a Sutthachitto Art Gallery decorated with silverware. The silversmiths of Ban Wualai helped to emboss metal patterns to decorate both the outside and inside. Inside, there are wax figures of 3 Khru Ba: Khru Ba Srivichai, Khru Ba Intha, and Khru Ba Boonban, the former abbots of Wat Muen San.
