Wat Chiang Yuen, Chiang Mai Province

Wat Chiang Yuen is located on Maninoparat Road, Tambon Si Phum, Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Mai Province. The Yonok Chronicles called this temple “Wat Thikhachiwasararam”, which means long life. It is an octagonal church, the only one in Lanna. Wat Chiang Yuen is an ancient royal temple since the time when the Lanna Kingdom was flourishing. Inside the royal chapel, there is also the enshrined Phra Sappanyu Chao, with Wat Chedi Luang as the center of the city (with the Inthakhil pillar). It was also the residence of the Supreme Patriarch at that time. The principal Buddha image of the temple is Phra Sappanyu Chao, which is in the Chiang Saen style of Buddhist art. Wat Chiang Yuen is an ancient temple with an old octagonal church in the Burmese style. Inside, there is a Burmese Buddha image. In the past, during the Mangrai Dynasty, it was a royal temple with an auspicious name and the status of the city of Chiang Mai, which prohibited women from entering. There is also Phra Chao Tan Jai (Luang). This large Phra Chao Tan Jai statue asks you to go out onto the Mani Noparat road to open the next door to receive a reward.
