Cherrapunji is also known as Sohra in local languages situated in the Indian state called Meghalaya. 

This Mawsmai cave is beautiful situated in the eastern hills and there is an entrance fee of Rs.20/- per person.

Cherrapunji is the wettest place in India with highest rainfall in India. Nearby many tourists attractions are there like caves, waterfalls, also one can able to see Bangladesh border.

📅 Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Shillong – The Scotland of the East
Morning:


Arrive in Shillong (via Guwahati Airport – 3-hour drive).


Check-in to your hotel or homestay.


Start with a local breakfast at Café Shillong or Dylan’s Café.


Late Morning:


Visit Shillong Peak – highest point in the city for panoramic views.

Early breakfast and drive to Cherrapunji (about 2 hours).


Stop en route at Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint – breathtaking valley views.


Midday:


Visit Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall.


Explore Mawsmai Caves – easy-to-explore limestone caves.


See Seven Sisters Falls and Eco Park for scenic landscapes.


Afternoon:


Short trek to the Single Root Bridge (easy alternative to Double Decker).


Optional for adventurers: Full-day trek to Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat (start very early & expect 7–8 hrs total).


Evening:


Return to Shillong.


Dinner at your hotel or try City Hut Dhaba for a mix of Indian and local dishes.

📅 Day 3: Mawlynnong + Dawki (Cleanest Village & Crystal River)
Early Morning:


Drive to Mawlynnong (about 2.5 hrs) – known as Asia’s cleanest village.


Walk through the village, see bamboo dustbins and neat gardens.


Visit the Sky Walk – a bamboo tower with views over Bangladesh plains.


Late Morning:


Head to Riwai to see the Single Living Root Bridge (short 10–15 min walk).


Afternoon:


Drive to Dawki (1 hr from Mawlynnong).


Boat ride on the Umngot River – famed for its crystal-clear water.


Enjoy a packed lunch or local meal by the riverbank.


Evening:


Return to Shillong or directly to Guwahati if flying out the next day.
