Cheorwon Hantangang Sand Road

One winter, I visited the Hantangang Jando-gil while going to the hot springs at Hantangang with my friends. The Hantangang River is a river with more diverse and beautiful scenery than any other river in Korea, with vertical cliffs and valleys forming here and there. Among them, the most famous is the Seungilgyo (昇日橋), an arch bridge jointly built by the South and the North, which was constructed under Kim Il-sung right after liberation and completed under Syngman Rhee right after the armistice, and which is a product of the tragedy of the division of the South and the North. The most recently opened #Columnar Joint Road (completed on October 19th last year) is a 3.6km section along the Hantangang Valley, which is registered as a Nesco World Geopark.
