Suxian Ridge Scenic Area is located within Chenzhou city of Hunan province and has been known since ancient times as the 'eighteenth blessed land under heaven.' It is one of the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots in Hunan. Suxian Ridge is famous both at home and abroad for the beautiful and magical legend of Suxian. On the ridge, there are 'traces of immortals' such as Bailudong (White Deer Cave), Shengxianshi (Immortal Ascending Rock), Wangmusong (Looking-for-Mother Pine), and Suxian Temple. The 'Three Wonders Stele,' which includes the poem 'Treading Through the Paddy Fields' written by Qin Shaoyou, commentary by Su Dongpo, and calligraphy by Mi Fu, is inscribed on the stone wall. The patriotic general Zhang Xueliang was once imprisoned here. In recent years, Suxian Ridge has become a popular tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors. The main peak of Suxian Ridge is 526 meters above sea level. Although not very high, it carries many people's memories, especially before the popularity of Gao Yiling and Yangtian Lake. In the past, an admission ticket was required, but since August 2023, it has been open to the public for free.
