All of Chengdu Looks South, Waiting for You Under the Clock | Waldorf Astoria Chengdu

I checked out of Waldorf Astoria Chengdu on the weekend, thinking that I must go to the hotel's swimming pool for a swim before check-out. So I delayed the check-out time again and again. I swam back and forth in the fashionable and spacious swimming pool, and then went to the indoor sauna for dry steaming and detoxification. Then I went back to the room to pack my luggage on time, ending this wonderful two-night and three-day trip. 1. The hotel is located in the core area of the High-tech Zone, the economic engine of Chengdu. In the 52-story towering and fashionable building, it creates a Waldorf-inspired space that perfectly blends classic elegance and modern luxury. Its context and interior are the modern "New York temperament" and the classic Art Deco style. 2. Art Deco, a style from the 1920s, has very individual and distinct characteristics in terms of shape, color, and materials. It emphasizes simple geometric features and uses zigzag and streamlined structures to make the design have a sense of the times, speed, and movement, in order to fit the flowing temperament of the city. 3. I really like the third Waldorf Astoria in China that opened in Chengdu. It is very new, which is beyond doubt. New hotels are very photogenic, especially the Waldorf Astoria with guaranteed quality. Every frame of the public space presents a meticulously crafted temperament; it is very fashionable. Every piece of art installation on display, the brilliant geometric crystal chandelier, the metal brass-like spiral staircase, the brightly colored living room seats, the precious marble floor, and the streamlined interior furniture are all classic works of art when listed separately; it is very Chengdu. Although this is a luxury continuation that has traveled across the ocean, the essence of the most historic New York Waldorf Astoria is reflected in the design, but local Chengdu elements are also integrated into many details, and the shadow of Chengdu culture often appears in the space. 4. Just like the background wall of the bedroom in the guest room, it is the mountain birdsong and lotus fish jump in Chengdu; the mosaic of hibiscus flowers on the walls of the guest room bathroom space, the city flower of Chengdu, hibiscus flower, has the shadow of being interpreted in many spaces; the lights at the elevator entrance are like the Sanxingdui bronze human face statue; and the wall pattern of the elevator buttons, I think it looks like the window lattices in old Chengdu buildings. 5. The presentation of these Chengdu elements and the shadow of Chengdu culture are not presented as a unified theme like many hotels in Chengdu, but are scattered and "deposited" in many spaces and corners. I think this is a superb presentation technique, allowing guests to always have the opportunity to meet "Old Chengdu", either familiar or clear at a glance, which is an unexpected surprise. 6. When I was wandering and shuttling through the hotel, there was a space that was also an unexpected surprise, that is, the hotel's library. This space on the right side of the elevator from the 51st floor sky lobby to the guest rooms has a "unnoticed" tranquility, and the color of its door and background wall cabinet is high-end emerald green, which is my favorite color. This unique and charming green is soft and strong, representing eternal love and is pleasing to the eye. I think if you stay at the hotel, if you are not in a hurry and do not rush to the scenic spots, you can "quietly" sneak here, hold a book, have a cup of coffee or tea, and learn to enjoy and give yourself space, which can be regarded as "stealing half a day of leisure". 7. This time I stayed in the Waldorf Astoria Suite of the hotel. The bathroom with double washbasin marble washstand and pearl shell floor design is elegant and unique, and I am very happy about it; Ferragamo brand high-end toiletries are standard for all guest rooms. I had a very exquisite pastry and bread for breakfast at the all-day dining restaurant "Brasserie 99". The water supplied for breakfast is Evian and Voss, which is of high quality and high standards.
