Chengdu Du Fu Thatched Cottage: "A hidden oasis in the city"

After passing the waterside pavilion, you will see a four-story brick tower. Although it is called a pavilion, it looks more like a tower. 📍Daxie: "Xie" means "official residence." There are couplets hanging on both sides and a bronze statue of Du Fu. 📍Shishi Hall: In the center of the hall is a statue of Du Fu carved by sculptor Liu Kaiqu. 📍Gongbu Temple: Du Fu once served as a staff officer in Chengdu. He was also an official of the Ministry of Works, so later generations often referred to him as "Du Gongbu." Mao House Scenic Area: The restored former residence of Du Fu. Based on Du Fu's poems describing the thatched cottage, the restored house recreates the scene of Du Fu's life in Chengdu. 📍Huajing: In front of Du Fu's thatched cottage was a path lined with flowers and trees, which he called "Huajing." In his poem, he wrote, "The flower path has not been swept for a guest, today the door is opened for you." Today's Huajing is a popular photo spot with red walls on both sides. 📍Dayatang: Originally the main hall of Caotang Temple, it was later converted into an exhibition hall showcasing Chinese poetry. 📌Tips: Bring mosquito repellent, as there are many mosquitoes. 🪅🪅🪅🪅 Wear traditional Chinese clothing or a qipao. Enter Du Fu Thatched Cottage from the west gate, not the south gate. On-site guide: CNY 40 per person; audio guide: CNY 25 per device. You can buy postcards and stamps as souvenirs, or bring your own. There are many cultural and creative shops, and the "Jueju" fridge magnets are great (CNY 45 each). It takes about 2 hours to walk around the thatched cottage and about 3 hours to walk around Huanhuaxi. 🎊🎊🎊🎊
