Beautiful Gesala.

Gesala Ecotourism Area is located in Yankou, Waluo, Wenquan, and Qinghe Townships in the northwest of Yanbian County, Panzhihua, Sichuan, China. It is located at the border of Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces and is a national 4A-level tourist attraction that integrates ecological tourism, cultural sightseeing, adventure, and folk customs. The tourist area covers an area of 594.23 square kilometers and is home to diverse vegetation and rich biodiversity. The main natural landscapes include a vast area of rhododendrons, virgin forests, natural gardens, earth bonsai, tiankengs, stone forests, underground karst caves, and alpine meadows. In addition, there are also multi-ethnic cultural customs. Gesala Ecotourism Area is an important part of the "Panzhihua-Xichang Sunshine Ecotourism Area" officially established by the Sichuan Provincial Government and the eastern gateway of the Greater Shangri-La Ecological Loop. It was approved as a national 4A-level tourist attraction in 2008. Gesala Ecotourism Area has a subtropical three-dimensional climate. Due to the large relative height difference between the upper and lower areas of the rock, the vertical zonal climate changes significantly, making it suitable for summer vacations and winter snow viewing. The road from Panzhihua to Gesala is relatively smooth but narrow, with most sections difficult to pass, and the mountain roads alternate between uphill and downhill. The road conditions are relatively better from the Yanyuan direction. The Gesala area between Yanbian, Panzhihua, and Yanyuan, Liangshan Prefecture, is basically a small plateau, relatively flat, with unique scenery. The Yanbian direction is mainly natural scenery, while the Yanyuan direction is mainly plateau characteristic planting. The temperature difference in the scenic area is large in summer, so warm clothes are needed. Camping is possible.
