Chengdu Sichuan University Museum

I made a spontaneous decision to come and have a look, and it was quite convenient with online reservations on site. The Sichuan University Museum is located at No. 19 Wangjiang Road, Wuhou District, Chengdu City, and is a comprehensive museum in domestic universities. Its predecessor was the West China Union University Relics Museum, which began preparations in 1914. In 1952, West China University was reorganized into Sichuan Medical College, and the West China University Museum was transferred to Sichuan University and renamed 'Sichuan University Historical Museum'. In 1984, the Sichuan University Historical Museum was separated from the History Department and officially named 'Sichuan University Museum'. In May 2005, the new museum building located in the Wangjiang Campus of Sichuan University was completed. The first phase of the Sichuan University Museum group was completed at the end of 2022. As of the end of 2019, the Sichuan University Museum had a collection of more than 85,465 pieces/sets.
