A two-day, one-night summer vacation in Chengde from Beijing

Chengde is accessible by high-speed rail from Beijing Chaoyang Station in just under an hour. While it's possible to visit it as a day trip, we recommend staying at least one night to visit the World Heritage Site Chengde Summer Resort and the surrounding Eight Outer Temples. ☑️ Plan Day 1: Take a bus from Chengde South Station to Chengde Summer Resort. Rest at the hotel, then explore the city or view the Chengde Kangxi Ceremony. Day 2: Tour the Eight Outer Temples.
