My Real Experience at Courtyard by Marriott Changzhou | A Weekend Staycation Getaway The Courtyard by Marriott Changzhou, which opened last year, has been incredibly popular. I finally got the chance to check it out and enjoy a staycation this May. Overall, the experience was great with fewer crowds, especially during the rainy weather. Taking photos in the public areas instantly gave me that vacation vibe. It felt like the entire Shunshan Town scenic area was the hotel’s backyard. Honestly, calling it "beyond Courtyard standards" isn’t an exaggeration—it’s an amazing value for the price! 🏝️ About the Rooms & Public Areas: I stayed in a Garden View Suite, which included a living room, two bathrooms, and a bedroom—plus a small garden on the balcony. I never expected a Courtyard suite to be this comfortable! The panoramic view from the bedroom made me want to stay indoors all day. From the room, I could see a distant pavilion and the outdoor pool. For a light getaway, the rainy scenery was unexpectedly soothing. The public areas feature a beautiful fireplace and an outdoor landscape pool. The rain chains and the design near the room entrances really added a vacation feel to the otherwise understated hotel. The seamless connection to Shunshan Town’s scenic area made it perfect for photos. Nearby is the Piggy Paradise, a kid-friendly, non-powered playground great for letting little ones run free. 🍜 About Dining: The breakfast was small but refined. I tried the silver-thread noodles with braised beef topping—delicious! Enjoying a bowl of noodles while watching the rain was so relaxing. I didn’t try the other hotel restaurants this time, but room service had decent prices, though the evening options were limited to sandwiches and fries. You can also order delivery (even Guming tea, which is hard to find in Nanjing!) via robot service. The area has a KFC and some bars (Post Office Coffee—not great!), with plenty of dining options just a short walk from the hotel. 🚗 About Transportation: Drive, drive, drive! It’s very convenient by car, though the location is quite remote—which actually adds to the faraway vacation feel. Passing through nearby towns offers even more food options. From Nanjing, it took about 1.5 hours to reach the hotel, which was a better experience than taking the high-speed rail and then a taxi.
