Visiting Taihu Tuying Wetland Cultural Park

Today, I visited Changxing Tuying Wetland Park using my Zhejiang Poetry & Painting Cultural Tourism Annual Pass. Starting from downtown Huzhou, I got off at the Longemont Diamond Hotel Station and walked two kilometers following navigation to the Tuying Wetland Cultural Park ticket office for exchange. Despite few visitors at the time, the boat followed the rule of departing half an hour after the first passenger boarded, even if not full. With about 7-8 passengers onboard, we set off shortly, reaching the wetland islands after a 10-minute ride. The park was lush with greenery—rapeseed plants heavy with nearly ripe pods turning slightly yellow, daylilies blooming in bright gold, pink evening primroses swaying gently, and vast stretches of gaillardia shining brilliantly. The blueflower garden even had identification signs, saving me from using plant recognition apps. I suddenly recalled the lyrics "I came from the mountains with blueflowers"—such a familiar song from a generation. Along the paths, morning glories dotted the scenery. By the water, besides reeds, there were large patches of purple irises and water cannas, with white water lilies and red water chestnuts scattered in the water. The winding boardwalks offered frequent encounters with waterfowl and wild ducks. I imagined how stunning the vast rapeseed fields must be in full bloom during spring. Compared to Hangzhou's Xixi Wetland, famous for its 100,000 plum blossoms in spring, this place boasts wider waterscapes, fruitful loquat trees in summer, golden rapeseed harvests, and rolling wheat fields nearby—making it uniquely charming and perfect for family outings and nature immersion. To reach Taihu Tuying Wetland Cultural Park from downtown Huzhou, take bus No. 4 or 17 from Chengtu Square Station near Dongwu International Hotel. Disembark at Tuying Bridge (Financial Town Station) or the terminal stop, Longemont Diamond Hotel Station. From there, it's less than two kilometers to the main gate (boat dock) of the scenic area. With navigation apps like Gaode or Baidu, it's an easy walk. Along the way, golden wheat fields sway in the wind, and wildflowers bloom abundantly, making the stroll pleasant until you arrive at the park for a wonderful wetland adventure. Out-of-town visitors can combine a trip to Taihu Ancient Town with Tuying Wetland Cultural Park—these neighboring attractions complement each other perfectly.
