Hyatt Regency Changsha: A newly opened urban luxury experience I recently visited Changsha to check out the first Hyatt Regency hotel in Central China, which opened in June. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this hotel, and I will share the details below. 🏘️️️Room type/layout The hotel is located in the IFS International Financial Center, with a prime location and excellent location, with elevators directly to the mall, making it very convenient for travel and shopping. Although the location is considered convenient in Changsha, it is located on the easternmost side compared to the Grand Hyatt and Niccolo, with the river view blocked by Niccolo, and it takes about 5-10 minutes to walk to Huangxing Pedestrian Street. I stayed in a deluxe river view room, which had a wide view and overlooked the distant view of Orange Island, and even in foggy weather, the window view had a unique beauty. The hotel is very generous with its suites, and I heard that if there are no suites, they will also provide deluxe river view rooms, which is a great benefit for the opening ceremony. All suites have a certain degree of river view, and the room's dynamic design is reasonable, making it very comfortable to stay in. However, the room type is relatively small, which may not be friendly to guests who pursue a super spacious space. 🛌Supplies/facilities The interior design is carefully crafted by Conran and Partners, with many interesting artworks. The "Cloud Shadow" in the elevator hall on the first floor, with its orange-red ceramic sheets stacked into a warm cloud, is especially heartwarming in winter; the large red cuju in the lobby elevator hall lets people know that this ancient sport was once popular in Changsha, and it is especially eye-catching against the green walls. The soft furnishings in the room are very cleverly matched, with a small amount of red furniture to match the open and fashionable style of Changsha, and the combination of red and green is not abrupt, but rather high-end. I especially love the yellow-green marble in the bathroom, which looks inconspicuous in photos, but is very beautiful and delicate in person, with two sinks and a whole wall behind the toilet and bathtub made of this stone, making me feel happy every time I use the bathroom. The hotel facilities are very modern and intelligent, with each power outlet equipped with a USB-C port, and the switches have a sensor function, which automatically lights up when the hand is close; the TV screen is smooth and silky; the roller blinds and gauze curtains automatically rise when entering the room, and the roller blinds have independent tracks, with excellent shading, allowing people to sleep peacefully. The pool facilities are also great and worth experiencing. The toiletries are Lelabo22, with guaranteed quality. The glass bottle Voss water in the room can be refilled indefinitely, which is very thoughtful. 🧹Soundproofing/hygiene The hotel is in good sanitary condition, and the room is clean and tidy, making people feel at ease. The soundproofing is also good, allowing guests to enjoy a quiet rest time in the room without being disturbed by outside noise. 💗Other tips 1. Service experience: The service staff is warm and attentive, and from the front desk to the concierge, you can feel the sincere care. The concierge lady also thoughtfully sent me two PDFs of food recommendations that they personally tasted and summarized, which was very cute. When checking in, while waiting for the suite to be cleaned, the hotel specially opened a king room for rest, which was very humanized. However, the hotel is still in the running-in stage, and there are some small details, such as not placing welcome fruit in time after check-in, and only replenishing it after the turndown service; not actively providing a menu during breakfast. 2. Dining experience: The afternoon tea and breakfast at Leilan Restaurant are both excellent. The afternoon tea has a portion of caviar, paired with potato pancakes, shallots, and cream, which is amazing; the black tiger prawns with oil-soaked pumpkin and grapefruit crab meat tart are fresh and sweet, and there is a live performance of making Spanish churros. Breakfast is a semi-buffet style, with small portions, so you don't have to worry about overeating, and the mini ginseng fruit in the fruit area is very distinctive, and the snow vegetable beef brisket noodles are warm and delicious, and I personally think the waffles are more worth trying than the pancakes. 3. Hotel features: The hotel uses red and green as the main colors, which not only incorporates the passionate regional characteristics of Changsha but also retains the consistent hidden mansion experience of Hyatt Regency. Walking from the bustling city into the sky lobby on the 62nd floor, it feels like entering a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle, which is an unforgettable feeling. The prices of the hotel's bars are not expensive, but when I went there, there were fewer people, which was a bit deserted. 4. Precautions: The hotel's facade and entrance courtyard are currently a bit barren, and the sign is relatively low-key, so drivers often drop off at the entrance of Niccolo across the street. In addition, the hotel's elevators and internal routes are more complicated, and it is easy to get lost when staying for the first time. Overall, although there are some minor flaws in the Hyatt Regency Changsha, the overall experience is still very good, and it is a hotel worth staying in, especially for travelers who pursue quality and unique design style.
