French Mont Blanc Hiking Station

The Poirny Hotel is located in the Mont Blanc region, the main peak of the Alps. It was built in the 18th century and was once an alpine farm belonging to the Charlet family. The cows were grazing on the grassy mountain pasture, which is nestled between the French Mont Pass at 1,461 metres and the Green Aiguilles at 4,122 metres. Later, the farm became a country villa. Armand Charlet begins supplying mountain guide clothing to mountaineers climbing Mont Blanc. In 1982, Armand Charlet’s grandson and mountain guide Gilbert Mugnier decided to take over the family farm to cater for the growing number of hikers in the valley. Since 2018, Julien and Justine have taken over La Boerne, a restaurant serving Savoyard cuisine and enjoying a sunny terrace with a superb view of the Alps. Every summer, the Poirny Lodge is one of the numbered stations on the hiking route around Mont Blanc and serves as a base camp for hikers and climbers.
