Phanom Rung Stone Castle is one of the most famous Khmer stone castles in Thailand. It is an important tourist attraction and an important symbol of Buriram Province. Phanom Rung Stone Castle was built in the Hindu Shaivism religion, which worships Shiva as the supreme god, to be a temple for Shiva, who resides on top of Mount Kailash.
