Make merit on a holiday at Tham Khao Prang Temple

Stopped by to make merit during the recent holidays at Wat Tham Khao Prang, a temple of the people under the Dhammayuttika Nikaya sect, located in Nikhom Lam Narai Subdistrict, Chai Badan District, Lopburi Province. Originally, this area was called Khao Lom Fang until around 1973 when Luang Pho Suwat Khamphi Panyo (currently the abbot of Wat Khao Prang), a disciple of Luang Pho Lee Thammatharo of Wat Ashokaram, made a pilgrimage to this place and saw that this place was suitable for practicing Dhamma and was suitable for building a temple. He established it as a temple on February 12, 1988 and received the royal charter of the boundary markers on September 23, 1996. The highlight of the temple is the Buddha statue in the First Sermon or Dharmachakra posture, measuring 32 meters wide and 56 meters high. He is in a cross-legged sitting position, his right hand raised and fingers folded into a circle, and his left hand raised to support it. The equipment consists of a Dharmachakra wheel and an umbrella at the very top. Built in 2014, there is a seven-headed Naga staircase to climb up to view the area around the base of the Buddha statue. In addition, the temple also has a nine-spired pagoda or Navalokuttara pagoda, which is a pagoda enshrining the Buddha's relics and the relics of the meditation masters on the top of the pagoda.
