I once had the host of a podcast tell me that Lake Tahoe looks nothing like my photos, and that I was essentially misleading thousands of people by posting them. To which I said, BS (or something along those lines 😉). Tahoe looks just like these photos, you just have to be in the right place at the right time. Here’s how: 1. Go on a sunny day. ☀️ Blue skies equal blue water, while overcast skies create a lot of glair and less vivid colors. 2. Use a polarizer on your lens. 📷 Polarizers cut through glair and reflections so that you can show off the clarity of the water. 3. Look for days with little to no wind. We are talking less than 5mph, but ideally 0-3mph. 💨 4. Go early - as soon as the sun is high enough to hit the water. There is generally less wind in the morning, and there’s always less people. 5. Bring or rent a paddle board or kayak so that you can get away from the more popular beaches and find your own slice of boulder paradise. 🛶 6. Go on week days. The more people/boats there are, the choppier the water gets. 💦 7. Check out @renotahoe’s website and page for location suggestions!
