Explore the Stunning Angkor Wat: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Journey

Angkor Wat, the world's largest temple, is a breathtaking site that will leave you in awe. Cambodia recently reopened its borders due to the pandemic, and since it's not peak season, this wonder of the world is surprisingly quiet, allowing for stunning, crowd-free photos. I started my day at 5 AM to catch the sunrise, only to be drenched by rain, resulting in no good shots. After a nap and breakfast back at the hotel, I ventured out again in the afternoon. To my surprise, there were even fewer tourists than in the morning, likely due to the scorching midday sun. The rainwater and post-rain sunshine created perfect conditions for photography. I was lucky to encounter monks in robes and elaborately dressed Indian dancers posing for pictures, as well as local youths in traditional attire, providing me with free models. Finally, the golden light of the sunset from 5:00 to 5:02 PM perfectly illuminated the temple's outer walls, making everything feel like it was meant to be.
