When it comes to Busan, the coolest seaside city in South Korea, in addition to the stunning sea view, the food is second to none! From fresh seafood by the sea, lively local markets, to chic Korean cafes with cute shops that are no less than Seoul. In this post, we would like to share 7 places to eat that we have had the opportunity to try. It might be useful for anyone who plans to visit Busan soon. 💕 🇰🇷Jagalchi Market The largest seafood market in South Korea, located by the sea in the heart of Busan, is characterized by the lively atmosphere of Korean vendors selling fresh seafood, such as raw fish, crabs, shellfish, or live squid. We can choose fresh food from the ground floor and take it up to the second floor for the restaurant to cook it fresh right away. Whether it's sashimi, hot pot, or Korean-style soy sauce grilling, this is a place where you can truly experience the fishermen's way of life and local food. 🚨 When choosing fresh food downstairs, we can bargain with the vendors about the price. The price is quite expensive for me. The total cost for the 4 of us was 155,000 won + 41,000 won for the table on the 2nd floor. This was the most expensive meal on this trip. ⏱️Opening-Closing Hours: Every day from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The restaurants on the 2nd floor start opening from 9:00 a.m. onwards. 🚍Public Transportation: Subway Line 1, get off at Jagalchi Station, Exit 10, walk for about 5 minutes to the market. ------ 🇰🇷 Ohyang Makjok 국 내 산 (제 주) 생 족 전문점 A famous restaurant in Busan, especially the main menu, 족발 (Jokbal), or Korean-style stewed pork trotters, which is popular among tourists and locals. This restaurant is special because it uses high-quality ingredients from Jeju Island. And seasoned with five spices (오향), it has a unique aroma and a well-rounded taste. In addition, there are other menus such as Bossam and cold noodles (Jaengban Guksu) that go well with pork trotters (the shop is located near Gwangalli Beach, where we can sit and eat while enjoying the view of Gwangandaegyo Bridge). ⏱️Opening-closing hours: 7:00-23:50 ------ 🇰🇷Don baegi (Pork baegi) Gwangalli branch A famous barbecue restaurant in Busan that is famous for its large pork loin grilled on a charcoal stove with a fragrant smell, served with fresh vegetables and side dishes. This restaurant is popular with both locals and tourists for its excellent quality ingredients and authentic Korean taste. The atmosphere inside the shop is simple but lively. (Total damage 98,000 won for 4 people) ⏱️Opening hours: 12:00-23:30 🚍: Take subway line 1 (orange) and get off at Beomnaegol Station, exit 1 and walk straight for about 300 meters. ------ 🇰🇷Jayeondo saltbread (자연도 소금빵) A famous saltbread shop located near Mipo Blueline Park Station in Haeundae, Busan. It is famous for its freshly baked bread with a crispy outside and soft inside texture, fragrant with high-quality butter and sprinkled with French sea salt for a perfectly salty and rich taste. The shop is located opposite Sky Capsule Station, making it a popular stop for tourists. The bread is baked fresh 6 times a day and sells out very quickly. (Price per piece is about 75 baht) ⏱️Opening-closing time: 9.00-22.00 🚍: From Haeundae subway station, exit 3, walk for about 5 minutes ------ 🇰🇷All sunday coffee & bagel A popular cafe in Gwanganri, featuring homemade bagels in various flavors, along with quality coffee at affordable prices. The shop's atmosphere is warm and located near the sea, making it perfect for sitting and chilling, enjoying the breeze and the view in the morning or afternoon. (Bread 2,600-4,700 won / Coffee 2,000 won) ⏱️Opening hours: 10:00-21:30 🚍: About 11 minutes walk from Gwangalli Subway Station (Line 2) Exit 3 ------ 🇰🇷Having Moment (해빙모먼트) A cafe located in Huinnyeoul Culture Village on Yeongdo Island, Busan, is characterized by its bare concrete architecture in a minimalist and industrial style. The seating area is spread across three floors, with the second floor having large glass windows that clearly show the view of the sea and the bridge over the sea. The third floor is an outdoor seating area, perfect for a 360-degree view. Recommended menu items include the latte and the Financier, a French pastry with a soft texture and sweet taste. ⏱️Opening hours: 10:00 – 20:00 🚍: From Nampo Station (남포역) Exit 6, walk about 270 meters to Yeongdo Bridge Entrance (영도다리 입구) bus stop, then take bus number 6, 7, 71 or 508 and get off at Huinnyeoul Culture Village (흰여울문화마을) bus stop. The cafe is located near the bus stop. ------ 🇰🇷Caffè Pascucci Centro Gwangalli, Gwangalli Beach branch An Italian cafe located by the sea, with a panoramic view of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge and the beautiful beach. It is perfect for chilling out or sipping coffee while watching the sunset. The interior of the shop is decorated in a modern style. There are 4 floors in total, with both indoor and outdoor terrace areas.
