Busan | Cherry Blossoms at Yongdusan Park and Busan Tower: The Most Convenient Place to Enjoy Cherry Blossoms in the City.

Taking advantage of a break in the rain, I took a stroll from the hotel up to Yongdusan Park. Initially, I intended to take a shortcut to Gwangbok-ro for some shopping, but I was pleasantly surprised to find cherry blossoms quietly blooming near the Busan Tower area. The blossoms beautifully complemented the tower, and near the statue donated by the Rotary Club, another cherry tree with slightly whiter blossoms was about 70-80% in bloom. Yongdusan Park was established in 1944 during the Japanese colonial period. In 1957, during the Korean War, it was renamed Unam Park after President Syngman Rhee's pen name, but it reverted to Yongdusan Park in 1966. Tour groups often head straight to the duty-free shops below for a shopping spree, but if you have time to explore Yongdusan Park, you might find delightful surprises during cherry blossom season. The mountain trail is scattered with the last of the camellias, their bright red petals covering the ground. Near the flower clock, the scent of plum blossoms fills the air. If you enjoy hiking, I recommend starting from the Film Museum.
