#weekendgetaways Last weekend, my friends and I trekked to the Kopan Monastery, just north of the ancient Buddhist town of Boudhanath. Kopan hill rises out of the terraced fields of the Kathmandu valley, visible for miles, crowned by a magnificent bodhi tree. This hill, once home to the astrologer to the king of Nepal, now hosts the Kopan Monastery, a Gelug tradition monastery under Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The trek was exhilarating, with clean air and spectacular views across the valley. The serene ambiance and stunning landscape made it an unforgettable experience. The panoramic vistas of the Kathmandu valley were magical, leaving us all in awe of nature's beauty.
