Just a short 15-minute ride from Brixen, Plose is not just a mountain — it’s a shift in perspective. I took the cable car (included with my BrixenCard guest pass), and in just 15 minutes I found myself above 2000 meters, surrounded by mist, silence, and the powerful calm of the Dolomites. The weather wasn’t perfect that day — cloudy skies, cold wind, limited visibility — so I let go of my original hiking plans and simply walked slowly, letting the moment guide me. Sometimes you don’t need to chase views or distance. Sometimes just being present is the whole journey. I stopped at Rifugio Monte Fana, where I had the most comforting espresso macchiato and a delicate, creamy cheesecake, with a dreamy view of the mountains disappearing into the clouds. It was quiet. Simple. And unforgettable. Plose offers hiking trails, biking routes, panoramic vistas, and mountain huts — but what stayed with me the most was the reminder that peace doesn’t wait for perfect weather or big plans.
