By the time we arrived at the east gate of Sailimu Lake, dusk had fallen. Dark clouds covered the sun, and traffic control was in place, so we missed the perfect sunset. ❤️ Day 2: We began our lake-circling journey. The blue of Sailimu Lake is the kind that cleanses the soul. The sky was as clear as if washed, and the lake looked like a huge sapphire sparkling under the sun. The distant snow-capped mountains reflected quietly in the lake. Unfortunately, time was short, and the 5 PM traffic control disrupted our plans. We had to turn back at the most beautiful southern gate section and head to Nalati. Summary: Head straight to Sailimu Lake without stopping on the way. To deeply explore Sailimu Lake, at least 2 days are best. Also, don’t easily try staying in a yurt; if you think the scenic area ticket is too expensive, stay in a nearby town instead! ❤️ Day 3: Nalati Grassland. The autumn colors of Nalati are nearing their end; the grassland has shed its green and donned golden attire. However, the autumn atmosphere on the Panlong Ancient Trail is at its peak, with forests dyed in layers of vibrant colors. Summary: If it’s not very convenient, this season might not be the best time to visit Nalati. ❤️ Day 4: Due to heavy snow the night before, the Duku Highway was temporarily closed. With anxious hearts, we detoured to Qiaerma and unexpectedly encountered the stunning scenery of the Hundred-Mile Gallery. Snow mountains, forests, and streams intertwined into a flowing painting, breathtakingly beautiful. At 2 PM, the Wusu traffic police suddenly announced the road was open, and we immediately headed to this heroic road. Among snow-covered mountains, the highway wound like a silver snake, a brand-new icy snow painting. Arriving at Anjihai Grand Canyon before sunset elevated this visual feast to a climax. The reddish-brown canyon shone brilliantly under the sunset, spectacular enough to take your breath away. Summary: You must experience the Duku Highway at least once. ❤️ Day 5: Today was a long day of driving. A quick glance at Karamay’s Hundred-Mile Oilfield and Devil City is enough; no need to linger. But the colorful beach at dusk, with a 45 RMB ticket, gave great value. The sunset bathed this magical land in flowing, blending colors like a spilled palette. Summary: Don’t spend too much time at the Hundred-Mile Oilfield and Devil City. Remember to check in at the popular bridge in Burqin at night! ❤️ Day 6: On the way to Kanas, there was a twist: we had to buy snow chains temporarily for safety, but luckily sold them successfully on the return trip. The seasonal closure of the Fish Viewing Platform made us miss the chance to see the full view of Kanas Lake from above, which was a regret. However, the turquoise water of Kanas Lake and the golden birch forest were stunning enough. Suggest traveling light and leaving bulky luggage in the car. ❤️ Day 7: Strolling through the Three Bays. The green river of Moon Bay winds through golden forests, the morning mist at Fairy Bay is like light gauze drifting, and the reflection at Wolong Bay is as clear as a mirror. In the afternoon, we returned the car in Altay and flew back to Guangdong at night!
