[Germany] Berlin Cathedral

#SummerCampaign Berlin Cathedral is a Protestant cathedral whose large dome is a symbol of Berlin. It was built in 1905 by Emperor Wilhelm II, replacing an earlier cathedral on Museum Island in the Spree River. However, Berlin became a battlefield at the end of World War II, and the building suffered extensive damage. It wasn't until 1983, nearly 40 years later, that exterior restoration was completed. The interior restoration was completed in 2002, more than 50 years after the war. Today, the cathedral is not only a Lutheran church, but is also open to tourists and a popular tourist spot. Featuring magnificent Neo-Renaissance architecture, the cathedral's impressive dome topped with a golden cross and four surrounding towers makes it an impressive building. The dome has 270 steps, and those who climb to the top can enjoy panoramic views of Berlin. There are many attractions to see, including the decorative canopy inside the cathedral, the marble altar, and numerous sculptures and paintings. It's also famous for being home to the Hohenzollern family tombs, where Berlin's most notable kings and electors rest in majestic sarcophagi. The interior and canopy were breathtakingly beautiful.
