A piece of Olympic history

The Berlin Olympic stadium was originally built for the now infamous 1936 games and despite what we now know the city chose to preserve many of the stadiums original features when redeveloping the stadium in preparation for the 2006 World Cup. Today lies a modern, world class stadium that has hosted a series of major sporting events and concerts. Taking a tour of the stadium for around €12 gives you a sense of the history of the stadium from seeing the original outdoor swimming pool and diving board to the results board with famous name of Jesse Owens etched into the stone.
