#traveldiaries Spent a day exploring Belém in Lisbon, and it was absolutely packed with history and culture! 🏰 First stop was the iconic Jerónimos Monastery. The entrance fee was €10, but it was worth every cent – the intricate Manueline architecture and the serene cloisters were just stunning. Right next to it is the famous Pastéis de Belém bakery, where I had to try the legendary custard tarts. 🥮 There was a line, but trust me, it’s worth the wait! Afterwards, I walked down to the Belém Tower, a 16th-century fortress on the river. The entrance fee was €6, and climbing to the top gave me an amazing view over the Tagus River 🌊. The nearby Monument to the Discoveries is also a must-see, with its impressive carvings celebrating Portugal's Age of Exploration. Belém is perfect for a day trip if you're into history, architecture, and of course, delicious food.
