Take the kids to Bazhong and explore nature, intangible cultural heritage, and adorable animals in 3 days. Here’s a super practical guide, tested and guaranteed no disappointments! Day 1: Cultural Enlightenment in the City Arrive in the morning and head straight to Xinghe Hotel. The pre-booked family room is very thoughtful, with a children's tent and toiletries set. The kids jumped with excitement as soon as they entered the room. After resting, visit the Nankan Grottoes. Use AR to scan the Buddha statues and instantly unlock the secrets of Tang Dynasty mineral pigments. The kids kept pointing at the “paint sprite” on the screen, asking nonstop. Learning while playing is super fun. In the afternoon, switch to the Science World. The VR space capsule is amazing! The kids wore glasses and “piloted” the spaceship, screaming the whole time. Afterward, they said they want to be astronauts. The AI robot battles here are also very interesting, and parents can join in, so it’s never boring. For dinner, choose the Zaolin Fish Restaurant near the hotel. We requested a non-spicy dish in advance, and the restaurant kindly adjusted the flavor. The kids finished a whole bowl of fish soup with rice. Day 2: Nature Adventure Day Early morning, drive 1.5 hours to Sima Water Town Grand Canyon. First, visit the 20,000㎡ Fantasy Cave, where the temperature is a constant 18°C. Remember to bring a light jacket for the kids. The lighting on the stalactites is stunning. The kids learned about “stalagmites” and “stone pillars” from the guide and collected small stones as souvenirs. Afterward, take photos at Longmen Waterfall. The mist splashing on the face is super refreshing, perfect for great shots. For lunch, have a simple meal at the Sailor Restaurant in the scenic area. The bamboo tube rice is recommended—fragrant and soft, the kids loved it. In the afternoon, it’s water playtime. The children’s water village is a paradise for kids, with various small slides and water toys. The staff are very responsible and help watch the children, so my husband and I could finally relax with a drink in the nearby rest area. For the brave, there’s also an extreme air float experience—exciting yet safe. In the evening, drive to Guangwu Mountain. While taking the cable car up, the kids pressed against the window shouting, “It’s like being in the clouds.” The view from the top is fantastic, with endless green mountains. You can also teach the kids geology and use a small shovel prepared in advance to look for “fossils.” The kids had a great time. Stay overnight in a forest cabin at Zizai Guangwu Mountain Resort. You can see the stars right from the bed, and the kids quickly fell asleep listening to bedtime stories. Day 3: Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cute Animals Day In the morning, visit Enyang Ancient Town. Walking on the bluestone roads is very pleasant. Let the kids try sugar painting; the master craftsman guided them hand-in-hand to paint little tigers. The kids held their sugar paintings and didn’t want to eat them. They also tried pottery DIY, making a crooked cup. The shop said they could fire it and mail it home, which is very meaningful. For lunch, enjoy the Enyang Ten Bowls in the ancient town, choosing mild steamed dishes with authentic flavors. In the afternoon, visit Qingjiang Shanhe Petting Zoo. The animals here are not afraid of people at all. The kids fed lambs and rabbits by hand and took photos with little pigs. The park has a camping and barbecue area. We rented a grill and enjoyed barbecuing while watching the “Wildman Teacher” performance. The atmosphere was fantastic. Before heading back in the evening, buy some Tongjiang white fungus as souvenirs—great value for money. Accommodation Tips • For convenience, choose Xinghe Hotel.
