Barcelona Park Güell Review – ‘Urban Jungle Magic’ Where Gaudí’s Imagination Blossomed

Gaudi's Organic Art and Architecture Park Güell was originally planned as a residential area for the upper class, but was eventually transformed into a public garden, a place where Gaudi's genius architectural experiment was put to use. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is a space where the boundaries between nature and architecture are blurred, with mosaic walls, curved sculptures, columns, stairs, and tunnels. ⸻ 🔺 2. 'El Drach' Lizard Stairs & Mosaic Wall The 'El Drach' lizard sculpture decorating the entrance is a photo zone and a symbolic presence. The wide terrazas (natural plaza) above it is surrounded by a curved bench about 110m long, and the sight of leaning against the wavy wall while looking out over the cityscape is healing in itself. ⸻ 🌇 3. Best view ‘Plaça de la Natura’ & hillside scenery ‘Plaça de la Natura’, the central square of Park Guell, is a viewpoint where you can see the entire city and the Mediterranean Sea at a glance. I thought, “There’s no such thing as an advertising photo” while looking at the scenery that spreads out toward the Mediterranean Sea from here . ⸻ 🚶 4. Walking trail & Gaudi House You can experience Gaudi’s worldview in three dimensions by visiting the forest-like walking trail, the column forest (Hypostyle Hall), and the house where Gaudi lived for 20 years (currently the Gaudi House Museum). ⸻ ⏰ 5. Tips & Traveler’s opinions Avoiding peak hours: If you visit early in the day (right after opening in the morning), you can avoid the crowds and take pictures. Paid zone vs. free zone: The key is to choose the paid zone where you have to make a reservation for a certain time. The 20 euro paid zone is well worth it. Be prepared to walk: the park is large and there are a lot of hills and stairs, so bring comfortable shoes, water, and sunscreen.
