Encountering Wudangzhao (Part 1)

It was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722) and is a national cultural relic protection unit, a Buddhist holy site for Mongolian Buddhists, and is known as the 'First Temple of the Northern Grasslands' and the 'Little Potala Palace on the Grasslands'. The Suguqin Dugu Palace is located at the forefront of the entire temple and is the place for holding collective gatherings and chanting scriptures. The pillars in the hall are all wrapped with dragon-patterned woolen carpets, the floor is fully carpeted, the walls are painted with colorful murals, and the back hall and the second and third floors enshrine Shakyamuni, Tsongkhapa, and successive generations of Buddhist masters. To the west of the Suguqin Dugu Palace, standing side by side with it, is the Queyila Hall, where Buddhist doctrines are taught. The ten-meter-high bronze statue of Shakyamuni in the hall is the largest bronze Buddha statue in the entire temple.
