World Heritage Mountain City - Banska Stiavnica

Banská Štiavnica was a town formed by mining in the Middle Ages. There are many medieval buildings, churches and castles around the main square. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage in 1993. First, go up to the commanding heights of Kalvária Church. The church complex built on the mountain is very special. You can also overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire mountain area by climbing to the top of the tower. The terrain of the mountain city is undulating, and hiking is a bit demanding. After walking around the main square and the ancient castle, I found a cafe to rest. As for the mine museum and castle that I didn’t visit, I will leave them for the future at an unknown time. #AprilGoodDestinations2025
