The Ministry of Defe

The Ministry of Defense is located on Sanam Chai Road, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, opposite Sawatdi Sopha Gate of the Grand Palace. It was built during the reign of King Rama I in 1887. It was originally the residence of the three royal children, and later was used as an elephant stable, horse stable, and rice mill for the military. During the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Phraya Thammasakmontri requested permission to build a permanent military building, which later became the Ministry of Defense. If you walk around, you will see old buildings with beautiful architecture. The front is decorated with old cannons that have been around since ancient times.
