Thepleela Temple

Wat Thepleela was built by Chao Phraya Bodindecha who built it when the “Saen Saep” canal was dug. Chao Phraya Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni) was a top soldier of King Rama III. He was the ancestor of Singhaseni, a warrior and a builder. He built the city of Battambang and stayed in Cambodia for 15 years. I haven’t been here for almost 10 years. When I came here, I could hardly remember the buildings and the Pali school of Phra Phisu Samanera. There were many sacred images built. In the past, there was only offering alms to monks and putting money in donation boxes.
