Phra Sumen Fort

#thailandtrip Phra Sumen Fort is a fortress built during the reign of King Rama I. At that time, 14 forts were built to protect the capital. However, as time passed, the forts were no longer necessary and were demolished. Phra Sumen Fort is one of only two forts left, the other being Mahakan Fort. The name Phra Sumen Fort was used to name Phra Sumen Road. There is a public park next to it and it is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. You can see the view of the river and Rama VIII Bridge. Nearby is the Lamphu Museum, which showcases the history of the area and the community's way of life.
