Chakkrawat Rakhawas Temple, Samphanthawong

#Get a discount without relying on luck - Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat is an ancient temple that has been around since the Ayutthaya period. It was originally called Wat Nang Pluem, and later called Wat Sampluem during the Rattanakosin period. It is assumed that the three women built the temple together, or because it was near Sampheng, it was distorted to Sampluem. There is also Khlong Sampluem running along the edge of the temple. Currently, the only permanent structure left is the old chapel on the east side. Inside is the Phra Pa Lelai shrine. Chao Phraya Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni), the great Thai general during the reign of King Rama III, renovated the entire temple in 1819 and offered it as a royal temple. It was given the name Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat Woramahawihan. - In 1827, Chao Phraya Bodindecha brought Phra Bang from Vientiane. King Rama III ordered it to be enshrined at Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat. Chao Phraya Bodindecha therefore built a chapel on the west side of the ordination hall to enshrine Phra Bang. When King Rama III came to offer the Kathin robe, he saw that the Phra Wihan Phra Bang was higher than the Ubosot, so he made a complaint. Chaophraya Bodindecha therefore built a new Ubosot on the north side of the original Ubosot. The original Ubosot then became the Wihan until today. Later, King Mongkut gave Phra Bang back to Luang Prabang and ordered Phra Nak to be enshrined in the Wihan instead of Phra Bang, and it has remained until now. It was elevated to the status of a royal temple in 1819.
