It was built by villagers who fled the war in Ayutthaya because there were many sandstone Buddha statues made by Ayutthaya craftsmen. Important and interesting things in the temple are as follows: 🙏🏽 Luang Pho Samrit, a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture from the Sukhothai period, built in the early Rattanakosin period, enshrined in the ordination hall. 🏕 Originally the Buddha statue was buried to the north of the ordination hall. It is said that he appeared in the villagers' dreams and told them that if they wanted the country to be peaceful and free from disease, they should bring him up to worship. Therefore, they searched for him and brought him up to enshrine at the temple. 🏞 The temple has a tradition of pulling the Buddha statue (Luang Pho Samrit) on the 4th waning day of the 12th lunar month of every year. This tradition has been around for over a hundred years.
