Until the end of the Ayutthaya period and the beginning of Thonburi, it was known that Chao Phraya Chakri (the original title of King Rama I) ordered rice farming at Talay Tom, which was a large mound. He also ordered a cow pen to be built here. The temple was therefore named Wat Khok or Wat Khok, according to the condition of the mound and cow pen. 🏰 Later, King Rama VI changed the name to Wat Phlap Phla Chai because it was the location of the pavilion for the Tiger Corps to practice war.
