Wat Suthat | Bangkok

🙏Wat Suthat Thepwararam, commonly known as Wat Suthat, is a first-class royal temple and is considered the temple of King Rama VIII. The temple's most notable structure is the Giant Swing, located in front of the entrance. The construction of Wat Suthat began during the reign of King Rama I and was completed during the reign of King Rama III, who named it 'Wat Suthat Thepwararam.' 👉The main vihara (assembly hall) features traditional Thai architecture and houses the 'Phra Si Sakyamuni,' a large bronze Buddha statue from the Sukhothai period. King Rama IV bestowed the name 'Phra Si Sakyamuni' on this statue. 👉There are legends of ghosts at Wat Suthat, with stories of spirits appearing in front of the main vihara. Inside the vihara, there are paintings on the right side of the columns next to the Phra Si Sakyamuni statue, which were created during the reign of King Rama III.
