'Aunglo by Yangrak' is very impressive. Let me start by saying that their concept is quite interesting because it combines Thai-Chinese street food with the Japanese IZAKAYA style. The food served here is grilled on a charcoal stove, as the name of the restaurant suggests. With an open kitchen, you are greeted by a delightful aroma as soon as you walk in. Recently, they have been awarded the Michelin Guide 2024, which is fantastic. The menu here is quite diverse and interesting. For instance, the 'Aunglo Char Siu Rice' is perfect for those dining alone or looking for something simple. The char siu is prepared in a juicy Hong Kong style and served with the restaurant's special chili sauce, making it a delicious combination. Another favorite is the 'Grilled Shrimp with Chili and Salt Rice.' The shrimp is perfectly grilled, sweet, and juicy, and goes well with the chili sauce and vegetables. These dishes can also be ordered separately for sharing, such as the char siu, grilled vegetables, or chili sauce. Another must-try dish is the 'Pomelo Salad.' 🥙🌶️ They serve bite-sized pieces of pomelo mixed with grilled shrimp and chili paste, topped with coconut foam, making it very refreshing. Another surprisingly good dish is the 'Grilled Shrimp with Curry Sauce on Coconut Pancake.' 🦐 It is served as a long coconut pancake topped with shrimp and curry sauce, with a slight sweetness that pairs well with small pieces of pomelo. Given the restaurant's grilling style, I also recommend trying the various skewers, such as the salt-grilled pork belly, Aunglo grilled pork, or Massaman grilled chicken.
