Chao Phraya Art Gallery

🏰The Chao Phraya Art Gallery was formerly the residence of Prince Naowarat, the son of King Pinklao. 🏢Prince Naowarat passed away in 1890. King Rama V then used the residence to welcome foreign guests. Later, it was converted into the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police and served as the residence of the police chief at that time. When the police headquarters moved, the residence was left unoccupied. 🏢In 1916, King Rama VI granted the palace and its land to Prince Khamrob, who later became the first director-general of the Metropolitan Police. 🏢Prince Khamrob lived in the palace until his death in 1939. The property was then inherited by his descendants, including M.R. Thuan Thao Nuek, M.R. Seni, and M.R. Kukrit Pramoj, and later to M.L. Asanee Pramoj, a grandchild.
