Atmosphere/Location - Wat Benchamabophit Dusit Wanaram is a first-class royal temple, Ratchaworawihan type. The entrance arch is on the east side next to Nakhon Pathom Road. There are 3 lanes, but only the left and right lanes are open. The middle one is closed. When you enter, there is a walkway leading straight to the chapel. On the left hand side, there is a statue of King Rama V for you to pay respect. On the day I went, the front entrance to the chapel was closed. You have to enter through the door on the left hand side. When you enter, turn right and there will be stairs leading up to the chapel. The chapel is a high hall. The walls are decorated in various parts with golden Thai patterns contrasting with the white walls. There are also paintings of various chedis, such as Phra That Phanom in Nakhon Phanom Province and Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom Province. In the center of the ordination hall is a replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat for people to pay homage to. Behind the ordination hall are balconies in 3 directions, closed into a square with a marble space in the middle for various ceremonies. On the balconies are Buddha statues in various postures, lined up in all 3 directions. The atmosphere inside is cool and comfortable, but outside is a bit hot because I came in the afternoon. Be careful about the area being exposed to the sun, it is very hot. There are not many tourists, mostly foreigners. Next to the temple is a bridge with a statue that you can walk across to Phra Thinang Songtham. For those who like to visit temples, I recommend not to miss it.
