Wat Intharawihan Royal Monastery or commonly known as Wat Luang Pho To, Bangkok, is a third-class royal temple in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. It is believed to have been built before the Rattanakosin period. It was originally called Wat Bang Khun Phrom Nok. Later, a Laotian living near the temple, named Chao In, who was the uncle of Chao Noi Khiao Khom, the royal consort of King Rama I, carried out a major renovation of the temple. The locals therefore called the temple Wat In to honor the restorer. Later, King Rama VI bestowed the name Wat Intharawihan upon it, possibly causing confusion with Wat Inthararam in Bang Yi Ruea. #worship #Luang Pho To #Luang Pho To #Wat Inthararam
