Stroll along the Vieng Canal in Bangkok's Old Town

My first trip to Bangkok was a 12-day in-depth tour😌 Fortunately, I met some locals and went to the pedestrian street of the Weng'ang Canal in the old city to sketch. Even they had never visited this place before. It was not a tourist area in the past, and the water quality of the canal was seriously polluted and very dirty. It became a new tourist attraction after the city government's improvement project and greening. The pedestrian street is relatively quiet. During the day, people set up stalls to sell snacks, play cards, and sketch. The auntie selling fish balls is kind and friendly. Some of the homestay buildings are a bit old and unique. In addition to the cute cats walking around and basking in the sun, there are also water lizards living in the ditches. They are always paddling on the small wooden paddles in the canal or appearing at your feet. This makes the pedestrian street more interesting than the imprisoned animals in Safari World (as long as you are not afraid 😆). If the traditional tourist areas start to bore you, you might as well take a walk over there. You may like this quiet and simple community.
