Bang Pa-In Palace, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya

Located on Prasat Thong Road in Bang Len Subdistrict, this palace is another famous tourist attraction in Bang Pa-in District and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It is believed to have been built by King Prasat Thong, as the island of Bang Pa-in was his birthplace and the former residence of his mother. Bang Pa-In Palace was likely the residence of several later kings of Ayutthaya, as it was located near the city island. It was eventually abandoned after the second loss of independence. During the reign of King Rama IV, Bang Pa-In Palace was renovated. Later, King Rama V commissioned the construction of various palaces and other structures, which are still used as residences, as well as for welcoming royal guests and hosting receptions on various occasions. The palace grounds are divided into two sections: the Outer Palace, used for grand gatherings and royal ceremonies, and the Inner Palace, used as his private residence.
