#Leng Noei Yi Temple

History of Wat Leng Noei Yi Wat Leng Noei Yi is part of the Chinese Buddhist Sect of Thailand. It was founded in 1871 and took 8 years to build. Some people call it Wat Mangkon because the word “Leng” or “Leng” in Teochew means dragon. The word “Nei” means lotus and the word “Yi” means temple. Therefore, the temple’s official name is Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, which was granted by King Chulalongkorn, Rama V. In addition, according to Chinese beliefs, Wat Leng Noei Yi, Yaowarat or Wat Mangkon Kamalawat is one of the three dragon temples.
