A Refreshing Escape to Tegenungan Waterfall

🚗 The Journey to the Falls Tegenungan Waterfall is located in Kemenuh Village, just about 20–30 minutes from Ubud. We went by car and had no issues with direction, it’s a popular spot with clear signs along the way. Once you arrive, there’s a parking area and a small entrance fee (around IDR 20,000 per person). Parking costs about IDR 5,000, and everything is pretty organized. Shops, small cafés, and souvenir stalls line the entrance area. 🌿 A Scenic Walk Downhill The walk down is short but beautiful. You’ll follow a well-built staircase surrounded by tropical greenery, river views, and photo spots. It takes about 10–15 minutes to reach the waterfall base. Along the way, there are a few viewpoints where you can stop and admire the falls from above. If you love photos, you’ll definitely pause more than once! 💦 Nature’s Power Up Close At the bottom, Tegenungan Waterfall is a powerful cascade of water crashing down a high rock wall. The spray is strong, and if you get close, expect to get wet which honestly feels amazing in Bali’s heat. There’s a large rocky area to sit or walk around, and many people go for a swim or just dip their feet in. Lifeguards may be present depending on the season, but always check the current before going in. You’ll also find photo platforms, “LOVE” signs, and bamboo swings if you’re into that extra Bali touch. 🧃 Cooling Off with a View After exploring the waterfall, we made our way back up and grabbed a drink at one of the small cafés near the top. Some of them overlook the falls, so it’s a lovely way to cool off and just take in the view. There are also changing rooms and toilets available for a small fee, which is convenient if you’re wet or just want to freshen up before heading out. 📸 Helpful Tips for a Smooth Visit • Best time to go: Early morning or late afternoon (cooler, less crowded) • Wear non-slip sandals or water shoes – rocks can be slippery • Bring a towel or change of clothes if you plan to get close or swim • Keep small cash for entrance, toilet use, and snacks • Check the weather – waterfall flow can be strong after rain • Take your time – enjoy both the top and bottom views 🌟 Is It Worth It? Absolutely. Tegenungan is one of the easiest waterfalls to reach in Bali, and it still delivers that dramatic natural beauty you’d expect from a more remote location. Whether you want to cool down, take stunning photos, or just enjoy the sound of rushing water, this spot ticks all the boxes. It’s an ideal half-day trip, especially if you’re staying in or around Ubud. No long hikes, no complicated planning, just a beautiful slice of Bali’s nature waiting to be enjoyed. #naturalwonders #myitinerary #bali
