Ubud Solo Villas: A Hidden Paradise Amidst Rice Fields

At Jl. Kajeng in Ubud, Indonesia, I had an incredible holiday. I chose to stay at a wonderful local resort—Solo Villas & Retreat. Nestled among rice fields, it's about a 3-5 minute scooter ride from Ubud's city center or a 15-20 minute walk. For those who prefer quicker access, the hotel offers scooter shuttle services, which is a super convenient option! The location of this resort is nearly perfect—immersed in Ubud's culture yet away from the city's hustle, surrounded by endless rice fields. The architecture follows traditional Balinese style, with spacious and beautifully decorated rooms. At least in my room, the morning sunlight streaming in made everything feel extra warm and cozy. Upon check-in, the front desk staff were warm and efficient, leaving a great first impression. Their prompt service really eased many travel hassles. The room amenities were well-equipped, and the decor was tasteful. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with pillows that were just the right firmness—I slept soundly almost every night. The bathroom was equally delightful, featuring a spacious layout with both a shower and bathtub. The plants around the sink created a romantic rainforest bathing experience. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and the diverse selection of freshly made dishes instantly boosted my fondness for this place. As for the surroundings, the Sacred Monkey Forest and Ubud's traditional spas are excellent choices for holiday activities. Plus, there are many outstanding restaurants nearby, like Padi Restaurant and Kaukau Restaurant, catering to both Western and traditional Indonesian cuisine cravings. Even just walking from the hotel to these spots, enjoying the scenic views along the way, was incredibly soothing. That said, this place isn’t flawless. The most obvious drawback might be transportation convenience, as cars can’t reach the hotel entrance directly. Scooters are the main mode of transport, so those wary of riding them might need time to adjust. Personally, I found these short scooter rides added a fun sense of adventure. Overall, Solo Villas was a cozy little haven during my Ubud trip. Setting aside minor inconveniences, I found it to be the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. 🌟
