Bali｜Does anyone still not know about this cliffside road?

The southern coast of Uluwatu in Bali is lined with cliffs and home to many luxury hotels. The area is much less commercialized compared to the city center, making it perfect for spending a whole day relaxing at the hotel. But when you get tired of lounging, it's always nice to explore. A quick search of the surroundings led me to discover this hidden cliffside road, which is truly unique. It's about a 20-minute taxi ride from the Six Senses resort where I stayed, and you'll find this road right next to Pandawa Beach. 📍Location: Search for "Pandawa beach road viewpoint" on the map. You can take a taxi or hire a private car to get here. The road is on the west side of Pandawa Beach—drive along the coastal road, not the cliff top, or you might miss it. 🌟Highlights: 👉This is a two-lane road that leads straight to the ocean. Though not very long (about 1.5 km), the cliffs on both sides are cut straight down, creating a breathtaking sight—like the earth was split open to form a massive crevice. Walking through it is a surreal experience. At the end of the road, you'll see a beautiful beach with shallow, crystal-clear water and stunning waves. 👉The road was reportedly built during the pandemic. Before, Pandawa Beach, though stunning, was hidden behind cliffs and hard to access. This road has made it much more convenient. The water here is far cleaner than in Jimbaran or Kuta, and I heard the local government plans to develop this beach further. While the beach isn't famous yet, this road has already gone viral worldwide. 👉The place isn't exactly deserted—you'll find visitors from all over the world, even tour buses. However, most domestic tour groups don't include such off-the-beaten-path spots, so it's mostly independent travelers with good taste. Personally, I find it much more interesting than the nearby Uluwatu Temple (Lover's Cliff). Definitely worth a visit. 👉Pandawa Beach charges an entrance fee of 15,000 IDR, but this road is free. I skipped the beach (seen too many lately and a bit tired of them), but this road is truly one-of-a-kind. Walking beneath the cliffs, you'll often see paragliders soaring above—there must be a paragliding base nearby. I'm not into risky activities, but the Nyang Nyang paragliding spot is quite famous and a big draw for outdoor enthusiasts. 💗Additional tips: Don’t count on public transport in Bali—it’s practically nonexistent. I recommend hiring a private driver for a half-day or full-day tour to explore Uluwatu’s attractions. Besides this cliffside road, you can also visit Uluwatu Temple (Lover's Cliff) and Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK). All three can easily fit into a day trip.
