Ayana Resorts Jimbaran

#balihotel We stayed at Ayana Resorts Jimbaran for four nights in March and had a very enjoyable experience. The property is large and beautifully landscaped, with several hotels sharing common amenities. Despite its scale, it feels peaceful and well-maintained, ideal for a relaxed, resort-style holiday. Our visit coincided with Nyepi Day, which gave us a glimpse into a unique Balinese tradition. The resort handled the quiet-day restrictions smoothly, and it added an interesting cultural element to our trip. The rooms offered a beautiful sea view, and waking up to the sound and sight of the ocean was a highlight. Unfortunately, cloudy skies meant we missed out on the famed sunset views, though we could still enjoy the same view many go to the Rock Bar for, right from our balcony. That said, the Rock Bar is still worth visiting for the overall experience. Food across the resort was a strong point. The breakfast buffet had excellent variety. We were especially impressed with the Indian dishes at Padi, and even the Italian restaurant Sami Sami was happy to cater to vegetarian preferences. The staff throughout the resort were consistently polite and greeted guests warmly. The health club, sauna, and steam room were well-equipped and very enjoyable. The pool and the Simba zone were a hit with the kids, and the private beach—though small—was clean and a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Since the resort is set on a cliff, reaching the beach involves taking a buggy and then a lift, so it's not direct beach access from the room. Transport wasn't an issue despite the resort's secluded location. We could easily get Gojek rides when we needed to step out. The airport pickup arranged through the resort was smooth, with a new vehicle and courteous staff ready upon arrival. There were a few areas where the experience could have been better. Our room's interiors didn’t feel as polished as the rest of the resort. Layout issues—like a fridge placed oddly on top of a console and a hanging lamp that was easy to bump into—stood out. We also had an air conditioning failure on the first day. While the team offered us an alternate room for sleeping, we chose not to shift due to the inconvenience of moving with kids. We had debated between staying in Nusa Dua, Seminyak, or Ayana and are glad we chose Ayana for this part of our trip. We paired it with three nights in Ubud, which balanced the beachside resort experience nicely. Overall, Ayana is a good option for families or couples looking for a quiet, green, and well-serviced stay on the coast.
