Bac Kan travel experience

Ba Be Lake is located in the center of Ba Be National Park, at an altitude of 150m above sea level, 70km northwest of Bac Kan City. Ba Be Lake is one of the most beautiful and unique natural landscapes in Vietnam. The lake was formed due to geological changes millions of years ago that caused the subsidence of limestone mountains and caves. The lake is made up of three lakes (Pé Lèng, Pé Lù, Pé Lầm), hence the name Ba Be Lake. The lake is more than 8km long, 2km widest, 500ha water surface area, 20m average depth, 35m deepest, on the lake there are beautiful small islands, hundreds of species of freshwater fish live and take shelter in the lake. Dau Dang Waterfall is located between two limestone mountains on the Nang River, where Bac Kan and Tuyen Quang meet. After flowing under Lung Nham Mountain to form Puong Cave, when flowing to Hua Tang Village, it is blocked by hundreds of large and small rocks stacked on top of each other with a slope of about 500m, creating a majestic three-step waterfall, each step is 3-4m apart in length. This area is also home to the Catfish, one of the rare fish species today with some weighing tens of kilograms. Ao Tien Located in the “third lake” corner of Ba Be Lake, Ao Tien is a pretty little lake nestled in a limestone basin, isolated from the main lake. It is a short walk from the lake shore. It is fed by groundwater seeping through the surrounding rocks, bringing it to the same water level as Ba Be Lake. Ao Tien is home to a number of local fish and other aquatic animals. Local fishermen occasionally come here to fish, although it is certainly more for the quiet and seclusion than the hope of a big catch. Like many of Ba Be’s distinctive features, Ao Tien evokes local legend; the name “Ao Tien” refers to a story about a hunter who, while passing by Ao Tien, was captivated by the beauty of fairies bathing in the pond. #travel#staycation#naturalwonders#thingstodo#localfood
